About Richard's Camp

Richard's Camp is owned and operated by Richard Roberts and his girlfriend, designer, Liz Fusco who moved to Kenya in 1993. Richard was raised in Click for larger viewthe Masai Mara from the age of 3. Richard's parents, Willy and Sue were instrumental in bringing together the Masai communities and forming the wildlife conservation association that exists in this area today. Richard's abundant and intimate knowledge of this area and the people, together with Liz and a warm and welcoming staff, ensure guests a very special stay.

Masai Mara

Click for bigger imageThe Masai Mara is located in South Western Kenya. Together with Tanzania's Serengeti it forms one of the worlds most diverse and spectacular eco-systems.

Richard's Camp is situated in a conservation area North West of The Masai Mara Game Reserve. With riverine forest and short grass plains, this area is renown for the most exceptional big game viewing worldwide.

The camp is located approximately 180 kms West of Nairobi (about a 41/2 hour drive). We have a small airfield adjacent to the camp for private charters, or within 20 minutes drive, the large airstrip is located for scheduled air services.

Accommodation

Click for larger viewA traditional tented camp in true African safari style with a few modern surprises, each individually decorated tent has either twin or double beds with triple rooms available for families upon request. Our solar system provides clean, silent power and ensures 24-hour light to all the tents. All of our 6 large and spacious custom designed tents feature an en suite flush loo and heated shower. Rarely has sleeping under canvas been made so comfortable.

Enjoy flopping on the sofa to read or just relax. At the end of the day, guests can indulge in an open-air Victorian bath tucked away in the forest, surrounded by flickering candles and the sounds of the bush.
